Multilingual Localization for Healthcare Marketing Campaign: Case Study

Client Industry:
Healthcare Marketing / Biotechnology

Project Overview:
Paragon was engaged by a global healthcare communications company to provide cultural and linguistic consulting, translation, editing, proofreading, back translation, and localization services. The project centered around creating web and social media marketing materials aimed at recruiting patients with Immuno Psoriasis for community engagement and online forums. The client needed accurate, culturally relevant translations across multiple languages for a campaign titled “Let Me Be Clear,” targeting a diverse audience across different regions.

Languages Involved:

  • French (France)

  • French (Canada)

  • German (Germany)

  • German (Austria)

  • Portuguese (Brazil)

  • Dutch (Netherlands)

  • Dutch (Belgium)

Scope of Work:

Paragon translated and localized 14,000 words of content, including:

  • Website copy

  • 4 web video scripts

  • 4 blog posts

  • Subtitles and video localization

  • Notarized Certificates of Accuracy for each translation

The project required attention to cultural nuance and regional language variations to ensure the content resonated with patients across different geographical areas.

Project Timeline:

This comprehensive translation and localization project was completed in 6 phases over a 9-month period. Each phase included the translation and localization of different components such as web content, videos, and blogs, ensuring the entire campaign was executed seamlessly.

Process and Approach:

The project kicked off with a detailed meeting between Paragon’s project management team and the client to discuss the scope, timeline, and content delivery process. Paragon’s team conducted a Cultural and Linguistic Analysis (sometimes called transcreation) of all source materials, flagging potential issues for clarification. An important part of this analysis involved reviewing a blog post written in an Austrian German dialect, which required careful translation to maintain the tone and context when localized for different markets.

To ensure the highest quality, Paragon employed a rigorous quality assurance process, including:

  • Translation

  • Editing

  • Proofreading

  • Structural review

  • Back translation for all materials to confirm accuracy

This thorough process guaranteed that the translated content remained consistent with the original messaging and met the cultural expectations of the target audiences.

Outcome:

Paragon successfully delivered high-quality, culturally appropriate translations within the set time frame. The client praised Paragon's ability to manage the linguistic complexities and produce accurate, on-brand messaging for different markets. As a result, Paragon continues to collaborate with the client on clinical trial projects, currently working on the third clinical trial and preparing for a fourth.
